  In the history of Grosio the famous "Giorgio Pruneri" bell foundry should also be remembered.  The Pruneri foundry operated continuously from 1822 to 1915 and from 1949 to 1956, except for the extraordinary opening in 1926 on the occasion of the casting of the Monument to the Fallen of Grosio.  The street named after the founder and the marvelous bells of the Prepositurale remain in the village, as well as many other concerts [rings] in the town, in Italy and in the world.
