Summary of history:

This family-owned foundry traces its roots to 1715.  For more than a century, the foundrymen were itinerant; they have occupied the present premises since 1838.  For a time, there were two foundries, operted by brothers; only the Le Mans foundry produced bells for carillons and chimes.  Current owners represent the 8th and 9th generation in this work.
